The short versionIn three lines

  • We collect only what we need to reply and to run your project.
  • No tracking cookies, no ads, no selling data.
  • Ask any time to see or delete what we hold.
01

Who we are

Slipway Studio, Lda. is a product studio registered in Portugal, with its studio at Rua da Boavista 72, 1200-066 Lisbon. For the personal data described here, we are the controller.

Questions about this notice go to hello@slipway.studio. A named person answers them, not a form.

02

What we collect

When you write to us or fill in the project form: your name, work email, company and what you tell us about your project.

When you become a client: billing details, and the names and work emails of the people on your team who join the shared project channel.

When you visit this site: anonymous page counts. We do not store IP addresses or build profiles of visitors.

03

Why we use it

To reply to your request and prepare a quote, which are steps you asked for before a contract. To run your project and invoice you, which the contract requires. To keep accounting records, which the law requires.

To send an occasional studio update, only if you opted in. You can opt out from any email in one click. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.

04

Who we share it with

A short list of processors that help us work: our email and calendar provider, our project board, our hosting provider and our accounting firm in Lisbon. Each one signs a data processing agreement with us.

When a provider stores data outside the European Economic Area, the transfer relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

05

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become projects: 12 months, then deleted. Client project records: for the length of the project plus two years. Invoices: ten years, as Portuguese tax law requires.

06

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, and object to or limit how we use it. Write to hello@slipway.studio and we answer within 30 days, usually within the week.

If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the CNPD, Portugal's data protection authority, or to the authority where you live.

07

Cookies

This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. Our analytics count visits without cookies or personal identifiers, so there is no banner to click through.

The short versionIn three lines

  • A fixed price per stage, agreed in writing.
  • You own the work once each stage is paid.
  • Thirty days of free fixes after launch.
01

What these terms cover

These terms apply to every project Slipway Studio, Lda. runs for a client. Your signed plan sets the scope, price and dates. Where the plan and these terms differ, the plan wins.

02

Quotes and scope

Every quote is fixed per stage and valid for 30 days. The scope is what the signed plan describes.

New work is quoted separately, in writing, before anyone starts on it. Nothing is added to an invoice that you did not approve first.

03

Stages and sign off

Projects run in four stages: Conception, Implementation, Refinement and Deployment. At the end of each stage you review the work on staging and sign it off.

If we hear nothing for ten working days after asking, the stage counts as signed off.

04

Payment

Product builds are invoiced per stage after sign off. Sprints are paid upfront and retainers monthly in advance. Invoices are due within 14 days.

Prices exclude VAT. If an invoice is more than 30 days late, we may pause work until it is paid.

05

Who owns the work

Once a stage is paid, the designs and code from that stage are yours, including source files and repositories. Open source libraries keep their own licences.

We may show the finished work in our portfolio, unless you ask us not to in writing.

06

Confidentiality

We keep your business information confidential during the project and after it ends. We are happy to sign your NDA before the first call.

07

Fixes after launch

For 30 days after launch we fix defects in our work at no cost. After that, fixes are covered by a retainer or quoted separately.

08

Liability

Our total liability for a project is limited to the fees you paid for it. Neither side is liable for indirect losses such as lost profit.

Nothing here limits liability that Portuguese law does not allow to be limited.

09

Ending a project

Either side can end a project with 15 days' written notice. You pay for the work done up to that date and receive everything we made for it.

10

Governing law

These terms follow Portuguese law. Any dispute goes to the courts of Lisbon, after we have both tried to settle it in good faith.

A product studio for startups. Design, engineering and launch under one roof.
