01
The brief
Phasekit had raised a pre-seed round on a deck and a waitlist of 400 teams. What they did not have was a product, a design team or an engineer.
Their investors wanted it live before the end of the first quarter. Ross Martin, their product manager, needed one team that could take it from a sketch to a production app without him managing three vendors.
02
The approach
Two weeks of conception: a scope workshop, user flows and a clickable prototype tested with six teams from the waitlist. Ross signed it off before we wrote a line of code.
Then six weeks of build, with a working staging link every Friday. Ross clicked through each one with Mara and decided what moved up and what waited.
Cut 31 features to 14Everything a team needs on day one. Reports, time tracking and the API moved to after launch.
One board, real timeCards move for everyone at once. No refresh, no conflicts, tested with 60 people on one board.
Built on their stackVue and Node, so Phasekit's first engineer could take over the code without a rewrite.
03
The result
Phasekit went live on Thursday 26 March, on the date we set in the first workshop. The waitlist came in three waves and nothing needed rolling back.
We handed over the code, the docs and the design files, and stayed on for four weeks while their first engineer took the keys.

“Ross cut features in week one that most clients fight for in week ten. That is why we hit the date.”
